BAFA - The Fleet
Since March 23rd 2007, BAFA owns a fleet of four brand-new Piper Warriors fitted with the Avidyne "Glass Cockpit". These new aircraft were the first of a program to replace the existing Piper Warrior and Archer fleet with traditional cockpit.
The new aircraft are used for both basic and advanced training. Their highly extensive equipment makes them very suitable for instrument rating training. This drastic modernisation aims to familiarise trainees with today’s modern technology of the "Glass Cockpit" from day one, as they will indeed encounter in their future work environment. For candidate Private Pilots as well, this modernisation signifies an enhancement as they too will be increasingly confronted with this innovative technology in the future.
For advanced training on multi-engine aircraft, BAFA owns an extremely well-equipped, high-performance Piper Seminole. Experience on this complex aircraft allows for an easier transition of candidate Airline Transport Pilots to large airliners. BAFA also owns an ultra-modern FNPT II, Piper Seneca V flight simulator and a brand new FNPT II XJ simulator type Boeing 737 NG.
